Five Things

Hello all!

Boy, it’s been an awfully productive day, and though, most unfortunately “Watch Me Juggle” took a backseat for the majority of it, I still made it back in time for this Wednesday’s weekly post! I’ve been almost completely submersed in the dance world as of late, taking on a few extra projects here and there. It’s been rewarding and a little bit exhausting as well. The one miraculous thing that happens when I find myself busy, however, is that I always manage to make time for the things that I really want to do in my spare time- whether that be dinner with friends, simply going for a walk, or maybe doing a little shoe shopping. Hey, I have to reward myself after a long day of work, right?! That being said, here’s Wednesday’s Five Things. I hope you enjoy the random assortment almost as much as I do.

(Did you know we had old Navy ships stationed in Alameda? Because we do. They block our lovely city view, but provide an amazingly unique view of their own.)

(This was a recent tweet of mine. I had just purchased an amazing pair of Lululemon leggings on sale, and want to do nothing but live in them. It absolutely made my day when Lululemon tweeted at me. I wanted to wave my phone excitedly in my fellow commuters’ faces, but that would be a bit strange…even for me.)

(This was the most amazing lunch I treated myself to this week. Did you know that Pinkberry, aside from their fresh fruit, carries dark chocolate granola? Relatively healthy and the perfect antidote for a muggy day in the city.)

(I recently came across this video and couldn’t stop watching it even though it would bring me to tears every time. I love how the video is a portrayal of all kinds of relationships, despite the song being obviously inspired by a romantic one. This has possibly turned me in to an unshakable John Legend fan.)

(I just picked these puppies up from my first ever Early Access to the Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale! Not only were they a steal, I felt weirdly special being able to go behind the curtained off areas and snoop around all the amazing sale things. I think I’ll be swapping the laces for a more streamlined look. What do you think? My initial inspiration was the fantastic Vivianna, at Vivianna Does Makeup . Click on the link to see her effortless styling tips for these shoes. I was quite surprised, but they look oddly chic for running shoes, I must say!)

Happy Wednesday-almost-Thursday!

Five Things

Hello everyone!

It’s been a long day at the summer job, and, I must say, dancers are some of the most meticulous people I’ve ever met. Despite the sometimes tiring commute, I’ve been enjoying working in San Francisco, albeit for a short time. I’ve met up with friends, and eaten some delicious food, so it’s all quite worth it. Today’s (rather late) Five Things is entirely reflective of all the things I love: delicious food, beautiful flowers, the city, and a little Audrey Hepburn for good measure. Combine these things and you have….me. In a nutshell.

One of my favorite lunch spots in downtown SF is undoubtedly Bamboo Asia. Imagine the Chipotle business model, but set up to represent a variety of Asian cultures: Vietnamese, Japanese, and Indian. Pick a station and enjoy! My favorites are the rainbow-colored sushi bowls.

IMG_2155

After 10 days, my beautiful flowers from our “Big Show” are still going strong. They’re such a nice sight to wake up to.

IMG_2196

I’ve been taking the ferry directly into San Francisco these days. I bet you that the views on my commute are better than yours! One could get used to this.

I recently discovered Frenchiebutt on Instagram. Should this peanut of a dog ever be available for adoption, I’m taking the first flight out to Seattle ASAP. What a sweet face!

As some of you may know, Breakfast at Tiffany’s is my favorite movie of all time. I’ve made it a tradition of mine to watch it every year for my birthday since my 17th. I imagine if my alter ego ever did move to New York, she would be something like Holly Golightly: drinking milk from champagne flutes and storing her ballet slippers in the ‘fridge.

Five Things

Hello everyone!

I’ve been enjoying my week’s vacation in the most passive manner possible. I’ve found it horribly refreshing to not necessarily make plans for my day, but to do whatever and go wherever the wind blows. Today’s accomplishments include giving myself an at-home chemical peel (Yikes!), making a healthy lunch, and watching Shutter Island on AMC for the fifth time this week. Yes, I know this is bizarre smorgasbord of activities. On the more normal side of things, I’m currently prepping some cherries for a lovely clafoutis I’m making this afternoon. I have fond memories of this cake from when I first made it during an unusually cloudy summer day in college. When in doubt, take on a baking project! Not only does it make you feel just a little accomplished, but you’ll have something very delicious to eat!

Speaking of delicious things..

Whenever I need a little pick-me-up, I love this pomegranate green tea by POM. It’s tart, refreshing, and sweet (with no added sugar!). Extra points to me for all the summer-y colors in this photo.

IMG_2108

I brought a bouquet of my very favorites home with me the other day. They’re still hanging in there, but one stem is determined to forever be a bud.

IMG_2138

Resorting to sticking your fingers in the bottoms of chocolates to determine their flavor? Never fear! That’s what the internet is for. One quick peek at the See’s Candies website and I knew exactly what I had. Apparently you can tell what you’e gonna get…

IMG_2124

A quick glimpse of the organized quiet before the storm. We had a record number of accessories for this year’s show. They all turned out so beautifully, we can almost forget the burns we sustained accidentally hot gluing sequins to our fingers. Here’s a hint: yours truly is not inherently crafty.

IMG_2115

My second favorite view in the world- the first being this exact view, except with the rows packed full of people. There’s nothing quite like walking out on a stage in a beautiful theater.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I hope, dear readers, that you are hanging in there- it’s almost Friday! It’s been a doozy of a week and I would be  lying if I said that my whirlwind of a weekend in Las Vegas wasn’t catching up to me. I’ve been running on borrowed time, and after I woke up to pouring rain today, I decided to go back to bed and take extra good care of myself for the day. When I’m feeling under the weather, I like to treat myself to an at-home spa day. This way, I don’t feel entirely defeated and usually end up waking up the next day refreshed with a lovely mani-pedi. While I’ve shared quite a few things in my previous post, it just doesn’t feel like a Wednesday without a “Five Things” of the week. I hope you enjoy!

IMG_1070Spring flowers by my apartment. One lovely result of the much-needed rain.

My new favorite buddy: the Camelbak. It’s glass, and I can even drink from it laying down without spilling.

IMG_1236

The funniest little club stamp ever. The PacMan. With our powers combined….

IMG_1244

Just in case this picture leaves you confused, this was my shoe in Las Vegas, and that strap was supposed to be attached versus flapping in the wind. RIP strappy sandal.

A Starbucks discovery: Caramel iced coffee by the pool. Delicious. I also highly recommend the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration sunscreen. It saved my skin from entirely frying for the whole day.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

So far, it’s off to a good start! Aside from my cupcake-for-breakfast slip up, I am being a successful adult this week. I’ve run errands, balanced a full work schedule, done my taxes, and have slowly but surely begun packing for my upcoming weekend getaway. My challenge this week will be to fit all of my clothing in a carry on. And by carry on, I mean my Longchamps Le Pliage bag. Yikes! I believe it can be done, especially give the fact that the majority of my packing will consist of cotton dresses and swimsuits. More on these adventures later this week. For now, have fun with Five Things!

5 Things

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!

Do you ever have those kind of weeks where you feel like you have so much to do, but nowhere near enough time to do them? I’m in the middle of one of those weeks right now. I am desperately trying to tie up all my loose ends well in advance, but with my plans constantly moving and changing, I find it hard to focus on just one task at a time. One thing that I so enjoy about blogging is that it forces me to focus on whatever I might be thinking or wanting to write about at the time. I try to get from beginning to end in one sitting, as often as I can. I have a horrible tendency to over-think a lot of the work that I do, so it’s very liberating to sit and “crank out” the work that I can, without too much intense scrutiny from yours truly.

With all that, let’s get to my five things of the week! I could also rename this: “Things I Saw This Weekend,” but where’s the fun in that?

IMG_1008(Miss Moscow Mule and Lady Greyhound had a night on the town. There may have been some disco pants involved.)

IMG_1009(Nothing makes a late-night walk home simultaneously more pleasant and more difficult than the smell of freshly baked donuts. Delicious.)

IMG_1010

(It’s starting to feel like spring! Admiring the blooming tree-lined streets on my way to Alameda Beach.)

IMG_1013(Oh, yeah. That’s why I live here. Look at that spectacular view! Impressive even on a cloudy day.)

(Am mildly obsessed with this song cover by the lovely Lily Ahlberg. Pause it, play it…)

Love,

EVA♥
