Five Things

Hello everyone!

It’s Five Things Wednesday again, and a beautiful day in the Bay. Despite all that, I’m wishing that I could find myself on vacation tomorrow, preferably somewhere searing hot and with a beach. I’m well aware that I’m already spoiled enough at my current job, but I can’t help the fact that I’ve been wishing that my entire life could be a perpetual vacation. I blame tax day. And also the fact that my cousin keeps posting photos of her on the beach in Hawaii. At least I can live vicariously through her on Facebook while looking at photos of my Hawaiian birthday adventures from last year. Speaking of Hawaii…

IMG_0236

I’ve been craving this all week. An acai bowl topped with strawberries, apple bananas, honey, and coconut. Best breakfast ever. Am in awe of both the food, and how tan my hand looks.

IMG_1388

Back in the Bay, I managed to get my hands on the The Girl & the Fig cookbook! And also this tomato that happened to be shaped like a heart. I couldn’t eat it. That’s just how I am.

IMG_1290

I would love to be the kind of adult that owns cups with saucers. I love looking at all the mismatched patterns. It somehow works.

IMG_1311

This is what I do at work sometimes. I’m also wearing pink tights and pointe shoes, so I clearly needed to document this rare occasion.

Once upon a time a prince asked a beautiful princess will you marry me

I love this. So much. Self explanatory.

Happy Wednesday!

Five Things

Hello everyone!

It’s Wednesday…again! It seems this last week has been absolutely crawling by. Don’t get me wrong, I’m by no means complaining. It’s been just beautiful weather out here lately, and I’ve been out and about as much as possible. There’s just something about the sunshine that makes motivating yourself so much easier. It’s like magic. So, without further ado, here are the latest ‘Five Things’ of my week:

IMG_1363

Literally stopped to smell the roses in the neighborhood on a walk yesterday. They smelled as beautiful as they looked.

IMG_1172

Example #497 of why I have too much time on my hands….I did them myself!

IMG_1361

You can always count on Urban Outfitters to have hilarious things for your kitchen. Or, in this case, your bar cart. For the girl who has everything: a flask that speaks for itself.

IMG_1025

We have been up to our eyeballs in this year’s “Big Show.” In case you couldn’t guess…we’re doing Alice in Wonderland. And, yes, that is my white rabbit hat. I see a fantastic Halloween costume in my future.

IMG_1359

Now that the weather’s nicer, I’ve been craving a trip to Hawaii like nothing else. When all else fails, you must bring paradise to you; hence my favorite Hawaii mug and the delicious Maui Grown Coffee that was gifted to me recently. I added a little bit of coconut creamer and it was like I was there. Almost. A lot of things were missing…like the tropical heat and tiny frogs hopping around my apartment. Close enough!

Until next time,

EVA

Five Things

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I hope, dear readers, that you are hanging in there- it’s almost Friday! It’s been a doozy of a week and I would be  lying if I said that my whirlwind of a weekend in Las Vegas wasn’t catching up to me. I’ve been running on borrowed time, and after I woke up to pouring rain today, I decided to go back to bed and take extra good care of myself for the day. When I’m feeling under the weather, I like to treat myself to an at-home spa day. This way, I don’t feel entirely defeated and usually end up waking up the next day refreshed with a lovely mani-pedi. While I’ve shared quite a few things in my previous post, it just doesn’t feel like a Wednesday without a “Five Things” of the week. I hope you enjoy!

IMG_1070Spring flowers by my apartment. One lovely result of the much-needed rain.

IMG_1141

My new favorite buddy: the Camelbak. It’s glass, and I can even drink from it laying down without spilling.

IMG_1236

The funniest little club stamp ever. The PacMan. With our powers combined….

IMG_1244

Just in case this picture leaves you confused, this was my shoe in Las Vegas, and that strap was supposed to be attached versus flapping in the wind. RIP strappy sandal.

IMG_1267

A Starbucks discovery: Caramel iced coffee by the pool. Delicious. I also highly recommend the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration sunscreen. It saved my skin from entirely frying for the whole day.

Love,

EVA♥

Five Things

Happy Wednesday everyone!

So far, it’s off to a good start! Aside from my cupcake-for-breakfast slip up, I am being a successful adult this week. I’ve run errands, balanced a full work schedule, done my taxes, and have slowly but surely begun packing for my upcoming weekend getaway. My challenge this week will be to fit all of my clothing in a carry on. And by carry on, I mean my Longchamps Le Pliage bag. Yikes! I believe it can be done, especially give the fact that the majority of my packing will consist of cotton dresses and swimsuits. More on these adventures later this week. For now, have fun with Five Things!

5 Things

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!

Do you ever have those kind of weeks where you feel like you have so much to do, but nowhere near enough time to do them? I’m in the middle of one of those weeks right now. I am desperately trying to tie up all my loose ends well in advance, but with my plans constantly moving and changing, I find it hard to focus on just one task at a time. One thing that I so enjoy about blogging is that it forces me to focus on whatever I might be thinking or wanting to write about at the time. I try to get from beginning to end in one sitting, as often as I can. I have a horrible tendency to over-think a lot of the work that I do, so it’s very liberating to sit and “crank out” the work that I can, without too much intense scrutiny from yours truly.

With all that, let’s get to my five things of the week! I could also rename this: “Things I Saw This Weekend,” but where’s the fun in that?

IMG_1008(Miss Moscow Mule and Lady Greyhound had a night on the town. There may have been some disco pants involved.)

IMG_1009(Nothing makes a late-night walk home simultaneously more pleasant and more difficult than the smell of freshly baked donuts. Delicious.)

IMG_1010

(It’s starting to feel like spring! Admiring the blooming tree-lined streets on my way to Alameda Beach.)

IMG_1013(Oh, yeah. That’s why I live here. Look at that spectacular view! Impressive even on a cloudy day.)

(Am mildly obsessed with this song cover by the lovely Lily Ahlberg. Pause it, play it…)

5 Things Wednesday

Guess what day it is?

It’s Wednesday everyone. It’s also CBEST test day- wish me luck! I hard the hardest time reaching back into my elementary school math for some of the topics covered on the dang test. I confessed to my students the other day that my mathematical skills now consist of determining how much the shoes are now that they’re 25% off, and how much I should tip the waiter. And, of course, counting to eight.

Without further ado, here are my five things of the week:

IMG_0984

(I am amazed that no one at Target gave me a strange look when purchasing 10 pairs of Easter Bunny ears along with my makeup remover. They must get a lot of teachers. Wonderland wouldn’t be complete without baby bunnies. )

Processed with Rookie

(My Suffolk Spotlights. Hands down my new favorite shoes, especially since I managed to stitch them so beautifully in just 15 minutes before rehearsal. I’ve certainly come a long way with my sewing.)

IMG_0887

(Two things in one: Earrings & Sunglasses)

Okay, everyone. I don’t want to hear it, I am aware that I look like a fabulous bug. I decided to jump on the fancy-reflective-aviator bandwagon. They’re just so darn fun. On another note, my mother gifted me the pair of earrings I’m wearing in the picture saying: “These make me look stupid and I feel conspicuous in them. Take them. Happy Valentines Day.” Gee, thanks Mom. I do love them, despite the wonderful sales pitch.

IMG_0930(A new favorite evening snack: tiny Haribo gummy bears.)

Please forgive the awful yellow lighting and drab background. It’s difficult to take a decent picture late at night at a Bart station….on your phone.

Thanks for stopping by!

It’s the Little Things

Hello everyone!

I’ve been contemplating as to whether or not to change my “Five Things” series to “It’s the Little Things.” Or does this sound too Hallmark Channel family special? You will have to let me know.

Looking back at this last week’s photos does make me quite happy- it’s been a good, busy week. I will admit that I truly enjoy being busy, but only if I’m busy with things that I truly enjoy. That makes sense, right? I’ve been dancing quite a bit (rehearsal in the mornings, class in the evenings), writing, studying, reading, and the other day I even made my own pasta sauce! From scratch. I’ve been feeling quite a bit like this little girl, lately. Complete with the cheerleading moves.

IMG_0808

(Beautiful antique cocktail glasses I was gifted for Christmas. Am searching for a special occasion to use these.)

IMG_0934

(An Earl Grey macaroon from Feel Good Bakery. Complete with a latte from Blue Bottle. Perfection.)

IMG_0922

(My last Valentine’s truffle. White chocolate strawberry. So cute.)

IMG_0876

(My favorite study partner. A cup of Choco-Chai from Julie’s Coffee & Tea in Alameda. Topped with homemade whipped cream.)

IMG_0875(Hey look! It’s three drinks instead of two! Tropical mojitos at one of my old haunts: Habanas. My friends and I have such fond memories here.)

Happy Wednesday!

Love,

Five New Things

Hello everyone!

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means: Five Things. Today, with a twist. Featuring five new things from this past Valentine’s weekend. I admittedly almost published this post moments ago with only four things on it. Wednesdays are occasionally hard for me. Between writing and brushing up on my middle school math (that’s over 10 years ago, everyone) my brains are fried. I’m a dancer, after all. We only count to eight, and then we start over. Just saying.

IMG_0848

(Yellow roses: brightening up my room and work space as I type.)

IMG_0834

I’ve been eating all of the emergency food out of my cupboard lately, and forcing myself to be creative with recipes. I’ve been making crepes quite a lot lately- it’s a breakfast that’s incredibly simple (in terms of ingredients) and feels indulgent. I’ve also been enjoying drinking my morning coffee out of my Valentine’s mug from Target. I’m not entirely sure why the cup of tea is so keen on using coffee puns, but whatever floats your boat.

IMG_0843

I announced to my good friend Rachel: “All I want for Valentine’s Day is take my shoes off and have a margarita.”

We somehow ended up at Chevy’s and it was fabulous.

IMG_0825

(An awfully festive San Francisco city hall. We have the best looking city hall. Hands down.)

IMG_0844

(The sign outside of Thirsty Bear Brewing Co. in downtown SF. Clearly in the spirit of romance.)

Happy Wednesday everyone! Now go forth and do exciting things!

Five Things

Hello everyone!

Wednesday is here already! It’s been an awfully long week already, but the weekend is in sight! Sort of…

I’ve been looking forward to today this whole week because I have this fabulous performance to go to tonight!

San Francisco Ballet is hosting the Hamburg Ballet for two nights only. They’re performing one of my favorite ballets of all time: “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” choreographed by John Neumeier. His version of “The Little Mermaid” blew me away years ago, so I can’t wait to see what he’s done with this Shakespearean classic. I can tell just by the short video blurb that it’s going to be visually stunning. Only legitimate ballerinas can pull off holographic unitards. A review to follow!

In other news:

IMG_0820(My latest bookstore purchases. Random, just like me.)

Here’s the latest I’m reading! I have a CBEST study guide (boo! I don’t know what I’m doing with that, we’ll see), Allie Brosh’s new book, and  a gem of a biography on Jackie Kennedy Onassis. This last one fell in my lap as I was searching for something completely different at the bookstore. It chronicles her lifelong love of books and the influence they had on her life. I’ve always looked up to JKO, but something in this biography “clicked” for me. She was an incredible patron of the arts and the ballet, and made a name for herself in the publishing world. Both things I ultimately aspire to. I can’t put it down.

IMG_0816

(Target decor. On sale!)

I stumbled upon these guys the other day and it took all my willpower not to purchase them. My favorite has to be: “Dear Coffee, I love you. That is all.” It’s absolutely something I would say.

IMG_0787(Here’s the part where I show you pictures of my weird cat!)

Imagine waking to this face staring at you. She’s an odd duck, she is. In this moment, she was perched on my lap, upright, and we were staring at each other. I swear, we’re two peas in a pod sometimes. Oh, and I’m a cat lady. Just so you know.

IMG_0553(My favorite donuts in SF)

I have had the worst hankering for donuts this last week. I blame the dreary weather. From left to right, you are looking at a Caramel de sel, chocolate rose, strawberries & cream filled, hibiscus beet (Yes, BEET), passion fruit milk chocolate, and orange cardamom donuts. I’ll let that sink in. Hopefully it will sustain you for the next week.

Happy Wednesday!

Five Things

Hey everybody!

It’s Five Things Wednesday already! This week has been particularly exciting for me, not really because of any epic goings-on, but simply because I’ve been reading/writing my pants off. Oh, and you know that little button on my side-bar over there? The one that says follow? If you click it, amazing things will happen. Puppies will fall from the sky and I will bake you a cake and personally deliver it to your house.*

*I unfortunately can’t guarantee that this exact thing will happen, but I can say that you will be my favorite. : )

Speaking of cake, it’s World Nutella Day! What better way to celebrate than to put your nutella in. a. cake? My mind is blown.
IMG_0427
(“Shrimp Dumpling in Rabbit Shape” from Hang Ah Tea Room in SF. Look at the little ears!)
I don’t know what it is about this colder (I use this term loosely) weather that has me obsessively thinking about dim sum. Admittedly, I was at first totally put off by the idea of having such savory food for breakfast, but add some green tea, and it just feels right. It’s quite the opposite of my usual morning routine (carbs + coffee) so it feels like a refreshing reset.
IMG_0783
(My favorite drink, at one of my favorite local cafés)
I had a meet-up this week that has me quite excited about life, in general. I’m working towards filling my life with the people and the work I love. It’s too precious to waste doing things you don’t want to do.
(Ellie Goulding “Tessellate”)
Recent song discovery. Love the video as well; Paris in black and white is a classic.

No mud. No lotus.
